Welcome to the Alternative Humane Society blog. AHS is an all volunteer animal welfare organization located in Bellingham, WA. We have no shelter, no office, and no paid staff. The work we do is done mostly out of volunteer homes, and 100% of the money we raise goes into our programs: Spay/Neuter Assistance, Dog Foster and Adoption, and Education. Since 1977, AHS volunteers have been working out of our homes to help Whatcom County animals and their guardians. This year, we celebrated our 32nd birthday!
